This semester I took part in an excursion to Jordan, which was organised by my University in cooperation with our Jordanian partner University, the German-Jordanian University.
The aim of the excursion was to generate photo and video material for a cookbook, which will be layouted and published as a joined project of both Universities. During the excursion I visited different markets, restaurants, bakeries, and private people, who shared stories and recipes, gave interviews and cooked.
I am not participating in the cookbook project but do voluntarily attend a workshop aimed at generating an interactive website featuring the recipes, videos and pictures that were taken during the trip. The website is supposed to function as a teaser for the book, while also explaining the idea to potential sponsors and publishers.
Apart from the enormous amount of material we took from the excursion, the challenge in this effort is that the workshop is designed as group work, where each group got assigned a certain sub page (making of, project description, actual recipes, ...). The groups made sub pages that look wildly different and I am currently working on finding ways to make a Landing page, from which it is possible to access all those visually diverse sub pages.
The photos are not edited and the layout is not finished yet, everything is still work in progress.
The illustrations featured in the screenshots of the layout drafts were not made by me.
